Write to one council member

The 2027 budget agreement orders a survey of the particularly vulnerable and threatened species on the golf course site. It does not say when, and amphibians and bats can only be found at certain times of year. Ask one council member to put one question to the administration about it, before the job goes out to tender. The answer is public. This is not a demand to drop the project.

The letter is in Danish. That is deliberate. A letter in Danish to a Danish politician gets read. Everything below explains what the letter says, so you can change it with your eyes open. You do not need to be a Danish citizen to write: anyone living in the Municipality of Copenhagen can. Write to one person, not to all of them. Six identical emails in the same inbox produce zero replies.

Every member of the City Council can put questions to the administration. The Climate, Environment and Technical Committee is the city's nature authority, but the conservation authority for this site is the state.

Edit the text so it becomes yours

Put your name at the bottom, and do write why the place matters to you. That is the part a politician actually reads. Do not send the text as it stands. If your Danish is uncertain, write that paragraph in English: it is better than a sentence you do not mean.

Write two lines in your own words. In the middle of the letter it says SKRIV DIN EGEN GRUND HER, write your own reason here. That is the part the politician reads. A letter identical to a hundred others counts as one.

Two mayors have no published email address. Jakob Næsager, Det Konservative Folkeparti / Jens-Kristian Lütken, Venstre. They are therefore not on any list here. Five of the mayors' addresses also go to the mayoral office, not to the person: writing to overborgmester@kk.dk is writing to the office.

The case is not secret. It is just hard to find. Most people in Copenhagen do not know the site exists, and very few know a vote has been held on it.
